Exciting Plans For NQC 2024

SEVIERVILLE, TN – The National Quartet Convention, Southern Gospel Music’s largest annual event, which takes place each September in Pigeon Forge, TN, has announced plans to change it’s stage configuration from an end-stage setting to a center-stage setting. “Due to distancing protocols that were in place as a result of the world-wide pandemic, we made the change from center stage to an end-stage configuration when we produced the NQC Fall Festival in lieu of the regular Convention during the Covid shutdown in 2020,” states NQC Executive Vice President, Clarke Beasley.
The Convention continued with the end-stage configuration from 2021 until this year as it offered production and cost advantages; however, as Beasley states, the decision has been made to return to the center-stage configuration in an effort to make the overall Convention experience better for the faithful NQC attendees. “We have conducted a number of surveys with event attendees and the results have revealed a strong desire for us to return to the center stage.”
Returning to the center-stage configuration allows the event to return to the identity that made the NQC so popular for over 30 years. “We are very excited to return to this configuration. We believe it will make for an even greater experience to those attending the event,” Beasley states.
According to Beasley and the NQC Board, the primary benefit of the center-stage is that the farthest row from the stage is half the distance to the stage as the farthest row in the end-stage configuration. It also offers more premium seats for customers, as well as more aisle seats, which will create a much more intimate setting in the elaborate LeConte Center, home for the annual event.
Tickets are currently off sale for the 2024 event while iTickets, the event’s point of purchase entity, re-seats season ticket holders, tour and church groups and those who have already purchased tickets. According to Beasley, tickets will go back on sale the middle of January for the 2024 event, which takes place September 22-28.

Joseph Habedank Speaks At Rehab In Dominican Republic

Nashville, TN (November 21st, 2023) – In the midst of a busy week at sea aboard the Gaither Caribbean Cruise, Dove Award-winning artist Joseph Habedank took a moment to reach out to a special group of individuals.  Accompanied by Country Music Hall of Famer Jimmy Fortune, the duo made a trip to Centro De Rehabilitacion Cristo Transforma, a rehabilitation center in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, where they had the unique opportunity to share their testimonies with a small group of attendees.

“I’ve had the privilege of telling my story at every concert event for the last decade, but this one was special,” shares the GRAMMY® nominated singer/songwriter.  “On the outside, I have very little in common with these special people: we live in different countries with different backgrounds and do not even speak the same language.  However, we have Jesus in common.  The power of His grace and redemption reaches far beyond the borders of any country or language barriers and has touched their lives the same way it touched mine.  It was an honor to encourage them, even briefly, in their walk to long-term sobriety.”

The visit to Centro Cristo Transforma was arranged by Wayne Duley, a former member of the Gaither road crew who now works at the facility in the Dominican. The non-profit ministry is based in Christian principles and is dedicated to reaching, treating and restoring people trapped in drug use, abuse and addiction, as well as educating and researching the problem of drug addiction.  Habedank continues, ”While addiction is a prevalent issue touching the lives of so many Americans, the struggles are not limited to any one country, demographic, race, or gender.  God can use these trials to reach the lost and hurting, and make them receptive to the Gospel.  It’s a common bond we can use to let them know that each and every one of us is in need of God’s grace in our lives.”

Dove-Award Winning Songwriter Teams With Focus On The Family For New Parents’ Devotional

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO. – Focus on the Family, in partnership with Tyndale House Publishers, has announced the release of Lord, Help Me Pray for My Kids: 365 Heartfelt Prayers for Parents by Tony Wood.
Tony, who has written lyrics for such artists as Joseph Habedank, Jason Crabb, Triumphant Quartet, Booth Brothers, Gaither Vocal Band, Karen Peck & New River, the Martins, Jim & Melissa Brady, the Nelons, Gold City, Brian Free & Assurance, and many others, crafted prayers for each day of the year for parents and loved ones to pray over their children. Each day has a theme, and topics include friendships, siblings, anger, forgiveness, missions, and more.
“As parents, when we talk to God about our children, we are so often caught up with their immediate needs and whatever stress-inducing event is right before us. We have long term virtues and characteristics we wish to see in them but don’t often get past the tyranny of the urgent to actually pray for these qualities. The prayers in this book are designed to jump-start a mom or dad each day, lifting up their child to God,” said songwriter Tony Wood.
“Tony Wood is a true wordsmith, and his parental prayers in this book will help moms and dads everywhere give heart-touching voice to their hopes and dreams for their children,” said Larry Weeden, editor in chief, book publishing and content development at Focus on the Family.

You can find these on all streaming platforms under “Songs Inspired by Lord, Help Me Pray For My Kids.” Music videos for these are available @TonyWoodSongs on YouTube.com. StowTown Records Celebrates Christmas with Release of Not So Silent Night by 3 Heath Brothers

Nashville, TN – In a true representation of the joy of Christmas, Not So Silent Night by 3 Heath Brothers is a perfect album to kick off the Christmas season. StowTown Records makes this album available at all digital music outlets this Friday, November 17, via Provident/Sony Distribution.

Brothers Nicholas, Christian and Clayton Heath partnered with acclaimed producer and arranger David T. Clydesdale for this ten song album which includes familiar carols, covers of popular Christmas tunes and an original song as well. Making this project extra special is the inclusion of orchestral arrangements recorded with The City Of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. “Since we began singing we’ve dreamed about doing a Christmas record,” shares Nicholas Heath, “but honestly we had no idea what a dream come true this project would be. David T. Clydesdale was a name I had seen all over the place: Sandi Patty, Disney and most of the church choir music – David has worked with so many artists in some form. For him to have such a prominent influence on this project is still surreal to me. And working with the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra was just amazing. What a huge sound and what an awesome experience!”

Everyone will enjoy singing along with familiar carols such as “O Come All Ye Faithful” and “I’ll Be Home For Christmas,” both of which include lush orchestrations to complement the vocal arrangements. Popular Christmas tunes include “What God Wants For Christmas,” made popular by country music singer Darius Rucker, and “Mary Did You Know.” But the 3 Heath Brothers shine brightest on the song they wrote, the title cut, “Not So Silent Night.” The energy and fun for which they are known is perfectly captured in this song celebrating the joy, love and reason for our Christmas celebrations.

“When I first saw the 3 Heath Brothers in person I was filled with joy and hope,” reflects StowTown Records co-founder Ernie Haase. “Now, with their first StowTown release, Not So Silent Night, they are bringing that same creative energy to the greatest story of all time: God with us! All I can say is buckle up! This is the pure joy unleashed!” The 3 Heath Brothers are just as excited for this new partnership. “To us, StowTown Records has always been the gold standard when it comes to Gospel music. Their insight, attention to detail and their track record with taking artists to the next level has always impressed us. For us to be working with them is very exciting!”

Not So Silent Night is the perfect addition to your Christmas music library and playlist.

Gold City/s New Lineup To Release New Single

Nashville TN – New Haven Records has announced the release of the debut single from the soon-to-be-released new recording from popular, multi-award-winning quartet, Gold City. The upbeat, remake of the Squire Parsons’ penned song Help Is On The Way, originally recorded by Gold City during the 1980s, features the renown quartet delivering the classic four-part harmony that first made Gold City so popular four decades ago. The single is a preview to more great original, never before recorded, songs that will be featured on the upcoming recording set to be available in early 2024.

Since 1980, gospel music fans worldwide have embraced the trend-setting style of Gold City. In 2017, the Quartet was inducted into the Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame, forever solidifying their place as the standard of excellence for gospel quartets.

Historically, Gold City has introduced listeners to such hits as I’m Not Giving Up, It’s Still The Cross, When I Get Carried Away, and their signature song, Midnight Cry. With ten #1 songs, multiple radio hits, and numerous industry accolades, this Dove Award-winning quartet has achieved legendary status. With over 60 Singing News Fan Awards to their credit, their career continues to be one that is celebrated, respected and relevant in today’s musical scene.

In recent years, under the leadership of Danny Riley, the group has continued to excel and carry on the rich heritage that was established by Danny’s father, Hall of Fame bass vocalist Tim Riley. Joining Danny in the present-day Gold City roster are three seasoned veterans who, like Danny, all grew up loving Gold City and hoping to one day sing in this stellar quartet. They bring with them a passion for Jesus and the classic quartet styling. Josh Feemster delivers the powerful lead vocal to the group, while Chris Jenkins carries the tenor part, as Jeff Chapman covers the bass vocals with a smoothness that he learned under the tutelage of long-time Gold City bass singer, Tim Riley. These four talented and gifted vocalists bring the classic Gold City sound to their brand new single, Help Is On The Way.

“Every person you see on the current Gold City stage is a longtime Gold City fan,” Danny Riley shares. “We all have our favorite songs the group has recorded down through the years. When we were listening to the older songs and talking about what songs we might add to our repertoire, this one stood out to all of us as having all the elements of what we want to deliver to our audiences. It’s upbeat, has a great message, and is fun to sing. Even though Gold City recorded it almost 40 years ago, it was never a single. So we decided to put it on our new upcoming recording. We hope people love hearing it as much as we love singing it.”

The new single and upcoming recording pairs Gold City with multi-talented arranger/producer, Gordon Mote and Michael Sykes. As Riley states, the arrangement, while fresh and progressive, holds firmly to the classic quartet style that has awarded Gold City such a following over the years. “Gordon and Michael were very instrumental in creating the new, updated arrangement. They are so talented and gifted. It was a joy working with them again. They have been long-time Gold City supporters, and we are thankful for their support through the years, just as we are thankful for the many Gold City followers who continue to love and support us.”

Continued support is expected as Gold City moves into the future, delivering hit songs with the class and professionalism that has always been unmistakably, Gold City. As the quartet moves to the beginning of a new year, once again they deliver a top-notch classic reminder of encouragement that regardless of the tough situations of this world, Help Is On The Way!

Help Is On The Way is available for pre-order on iTunes and Amazon now and will be available December 1 via all streaming platforms.
