SOGR Radio is pleased to announce the launch of its newly enhanced radio charting system, developed to provide a more accurate, transparent, and equitable reflection of actual airplay across participating stations.
Over the past several months, our team has rebuilt the charting platform to ensure that rankings reflect **verified radio spins and confirmed broadcast rotation**. As part of this update, **listener requests will no longer be included in chart tabulations.**
“Our mission has always been to deliver a chart that is honest, reliable, and truly representative of what is happening on the airwaves,” said SOGR Radio. “By moving to an airplay-only model, we are strengthening the integrity of the chart and ensuring that every artist is evaluated on the same basis.”
### Why Requests Are No Longer Counted
While listener requests remain an important indicator of audience interest, they can at times be:
* Repeated or coordinated
* Influenced by the size of an artist’s fan base
* Difficult to verify consistently
Because of these factors, requests measure enthusiasm rather than actual broadcast rotation. To maintain fairness for artists of all sizes, **only confirmed on-air spins will now be counted toward chart placement.** If a song receives verified radio airplay, it will be reflected in the chart. Request spins will not be included in the data.
### A System That Benefits the Entire Community
* **Artists** gain a level playing field based on real airplay
* **Listeners** receive a chart they can trust
* **Industry partners** benefit from credible, data-driven reporting
Listener requests will continue to help guide programming decisions and reflect audience engagement — they simply no longer determine chart rankings.
### Our Commitment
This update reflects SOGR Radio’s ongoing commitment to supporting artists, broadcasters, and the Southern Gospel community through trusted and transparent reporting.
