Musically-Driven Film ‘Southern Gospel’ Starts Production

Atlanta, GA (September 10, 2020)
The musically-driven motion picture, Southern Gospel, has commenced principal photography in Atlanta. It is one of many films kicking into gear after COVID-19 shut down movie productions for the last six months.

Southern Gospel tells the true story of a rock ‘n’ roll star ‘Samuel Allen’ who must overcome seemingly endless obstacles on his journey to fulfilling his childhood dream. The movie will feature ten original songs.

Actor and recording artist, Max Ehrich has been cast in the lead role of ‘Samuel Allen.’ Ehrich may be best known for playing ‘Hunter May’ in the Spielberg/Stephen King hit CBS series, Under the Dome, and was most recently seen in the Jenji Kohan produced dramedy series, American Princess and the heartfelt Netflix original film, WALK.RIDE.RODEO, which also featured one of Ehrich’s original songs, “Ride.” The actor previously earned four Daytime Emmy nominations for his work on The Young and the Restless.

Katelyn Nacon, who is known for her roles as “Enid” on AMC’s The Walking Dead and for also starring in Hulu’s Light As A Feather, is co-starring in the film.

The film’s producers are implementing a variety of COVID-19 related safety protocols. “Shooting a film during a pandemic is difficult, increasing both our budget and production time. But everyone has pulled together and worked hard to meet the challenge, and now we’re moving forward,” says producer Kent Munsey. “Our movie in a lot of ways is about redemption and renewal, so it’s reminding all of us there’s always light at the end of the tunnel – even after challenges like COVID-19,” he adds.

The supporting cast includes: J. Alphonse Nicholson (Just Mercy, Blue Bloods), Gary Weeks (Outer Banks, Spiderman: Homecoming, Burn Notice), Justice Leak (Supergirl, The Vampire Diaries).

“It’s incredible to see everything coming together. We faced a lot of challenges from the pandemic, but every member of the team has been working tirelessly for months on end, and we’re beyond excited to begin production,” says Munsey.

Nashville, TN (September 8, 2020)
Gateway Southern Gospel group GloryWay Quartet recently learned that its latest radio single, “Nobody” has debuted at #11 in the Top 20 New Releases to radio on the SGN Scoops national chart. The single has caught on across the nation and has quickly become a hit for the Ohio based group. It is the first release from their new album, God You’re Amazing.

“Breaking out in the quartet world is tough to say the least. With so many incredible groups already fighting for radio airtime, it can be tough to gain the attention of the industry. GloryWay has become one of the few groups able to grab listeners attention and not let go. Their vocals are as strong as any group on the road and fans just love these guys,” stated Matt Felts, Gateway Management.

The group has already released a video online for “Nobody”, but a special edition is soon to be released. “Everywhere we go and sing this song, it connects with the crowd. People keep coming up to the table and saying that they are a nobody also. We wanted to include our friends and fans on this video” added Justin Crank. The special edition “Nobody” video will debut in the coming weeks.

JP Miller to Host ‘Ogle’s Chapel Hour’ in Sevierville, TN

Sevierville, TN (September 8, 2020)
JP Miller has announced the release of a new Southern Gospel radio program to a local pop station. Miller is no stranger to Southern Gospel music. With a career spanning over two decades in the music industry, JP Miller is a well-known soloist, television personality, and radio host. Miller also works closely with the Southern Gospel Music Hall of Fame, located in Pigeon Forge, TN.

For the last nine years, JP has hosted the Smoky Mountain Gospel Jubilee, a live radio and television program that broadcasts from Sevierville, TN. The show was an instant hit. Fans enjoyed sitting in the store’s recliners and watching the show in person. Never before has a live radio program been open to the public like this plus being taped for television. Artists that have appeared on the program include Triumphant, Kingdom Heirs, Tony Gore, LuLu Roman, Ann Downing, and many others. During the social distancing season, Miller and crew remained on the air and added Facebook to their program broadcasting from the studio of Praise 96.3. Like many of his music industry peers during the pandemic, Miller faced the cancellation of several concert dates. Although thousands of fans tuned in to enjoy the show via the internet, JP still had time on his hands looking for ways to fulfill his ministry.

Miller approached the Executive Producers of the Smoky Mountain Gospel Jubilee, Ron and Betty Ogle with the idea of doing a brand new gospel music based radio program on a secular station while keeping his Monday night program going.

The Ogles agreed to program and approached the Mix 105.5 station and their sister station Mtn 106.3 in Sevierville, TN. The stations play a mix of adult pop and contemporary songs and is a favorite of locals in Sevier County, TN. Miller approached the stations with the idea of hosting a weekly Sunday morning broadcast that would feature Southern Gospel Music. After meetings of discussion and planning, all parties agreed and JP Miller was named host of Ogle’s Chapel Hour broadcasting on Mix 105.5 and Mtn 106.3 from 9am – 10am in Sevierville, TN.

“This is a way to reach folks with the Gospel and Southern Gospel Music who would typically not listen to our music or our message. Having a presence on secular radio is a great ministry tool. I am excited and thankful for the opportunity to share our music with new people! Just because Covid has hindered our concert appearances and gathering together, our callings and desire to share the message of Jesus is still there. We just need to be a little more creative and think of new ways to reach people” Miller stated.

The show, Ogle’s Chapel Hour will begin on Sunday, September 23, 2020 and will air from 9am – 10am in the Sevier County area of Tennessee. It can be heard around the world on and

The Collingsworth Family Shares ‘Worship from Home’

Nashville, TN (September 8, 2020)
When The Collingsworth Family gathered in their living room for a Facebook Live concert event, nobody knew just how special that time would be. What started from a heart to raise money for a worthy organization exceeded expectations and culminated in a powerful worship service. Now, they get to share that worship experience with you again. Worship from Home is an intimate, around-the-piano experience with one of America’s favorite Southern Gospel vocal groups.

On March 29, 2020, The Collingsworth Family decided to livestream a concert from their home to benefit Samaritan’s Purse. Just a few days prior, they felt the Lord compelling them to do an online fundraiser and had no idea how far reaching their efforts would be. The day of the event, they made a last-minute decision to record it for archival purposes. The songs they shared were encouraging and calming, something fans so desperately needed, as many states were going into government-imposed lockdowns that very week. Over 600,000 people viewed the online event, and more than $230,000.00 was raised for Samaritan’s Purse, which had just sent a relief team into New York City, the epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic at that time.

The Collingsworth Family was thrilled to see what God had done with their act of obedience. Phil Collingsworth, Sr. shares, “When the cameras began to roll and we watched as our crew started the countdown clock to the moment we went live, we had no way of knowing what God had in store for us that evening. We watched as the number of views topped 200,000 and God’s people so generously gave to Samaritan’s Purse, but we didn’t have a clue what that would set in motion!”

Fans flooded their office with requests for CDs and DVDs of the event. Phil continues, “God knew the event would turn into a recording and now be released nationally. That is the God we serve; One who sees beyond what we can see.”

In addition to a newly penned song by Kim Collingsworth, “Joy Is Not Cancelled,” the song selections include hymns and classic songs of the faith they had never previously recorded. Distributed exclusively by Sony/Provident, Worship From Home is available now at digital and retail outlets worldwide and is sure to be an uplifting addition to your CD & DVD collections.

Ernie Haase & Signature Sound to Premiere Friday Night Sing Sep 11

Nashville, TN (September 2, 2020)
GRAMMY®-nominated, Dove Award-winning StowTown Records flagship artist Ernie Haase & Signature Sound is set to premiere a new streaming series, Friday Night Sing, beginning September 11 at 7:00 pm ET. A unique mix of music, memories and special guests, the weekly half-hour show will be free to view on the group’s website, as well as via YouTube and Facebook.

“Like everyone else, when much of the U.S. shut down at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, I would wake up each morning with uncertainty and a certain amount of fear,” Haase recalls. “After a few weeks of that I said, ‘Enough! What can I do to help?’ EHSS soon began singing together online, each of us performing from our individual living rooms. That weekly effort caught on so well and the idea for ‘Friday Night Sing’ was born. Now, this series is our gift to the body of Christ in these uncertain times.”

With a new episode debuting each Friday for 16 weeks, the show will be anchored by socially-distanced performances of familiar favorites from Ernie Haase & Signature Sound. In addition, a special guest will be featured on every show, with upcoming appearances slated to include Christian music patriarch Bill Gaither; Dr. Dave Zanotti, president and CEO of the American Policy Roundtable and co-host of the popular radio broadcast The Public Square; GRAMMY®-winning cellist Sara Sant’Ambrogio; GRAMMY®-nominated trio the Booth Brothers; and Broadway actor and singer J. Mark McVey, among many others.

“Friday Night Sing” episodes will also be highlighted by never-before-seen footage of Haase’s beloved father-in-law, the late George Younce, along with archived performances from the Cathedral Quartet during Haase’s tenure with the iconic group.

“We know Christ is the center of all things and on the ‘Friday Night Sing’ we are going to show the world what that looks like,” Haase adds of the show’s purpose. “Grace, hope, love, liberty, friendship and all good things have a face, and it is the eternal Christ Jesus our Lord. THAT’S WHY WE SING!”

Since its formation in 2003, Ernie Haase & Signature Sound has become one of the most celebrated quartets in Southern Gospel history. The GRAMMY®-nominated, multi Dove Award-winning group is comprised of Ernie Haase (tenor), Devin McGlamery (lead), Dustin Doyle (baritone) and Paul Harkey (bass). A hitmaker at Southern Gospel radio, EHSS has also earned multiple Gold and Platinum DVD certifications and was recently nominated for a 2020 Dove Award for Southern Gospel Artist of the Year.

The Chitans Release New Single ‘Running To Jesus’

Arden, NC (August 21, 2020)
Through their family ministry that reaches countries all over the world, The Chitans continue to spread God’s word, with songs that bring hope, peace and strength. They once again share this message in their latest song, “Running To Jesus,” their third release with Horizon Records.
“Despite hard situations in life, we need to know we can lay down all our problems and run to Jesus. He is the only one who can take our burden, guilt and shame, then change our situation and give us peace,” say The Chitans.

Performed with inspired celebration, this song reminds us that each day can begin looking to Jesus for comfort. Kaiziah, Kayandra, Jesse, Jayden and Karlainah each take a turn leading and come together to sing “Running to Jesus.”

Rooted in faith and tradition, The Chitans’ music keeps Southern Gospel at the core, while bringing in influences from the family’s world-wide travels. And no matter what elements shine through, the Biblical teachings of each song stand out the most.

“Our favorite part in ‘Running To Jesus’ is, ‘I’ll love to take you with me, when I’m running to Jesus,’” say The Chitans. “We pray it will bless you as it blesses us.”
